Hey everyone, my name is Kirk Norris.  I’m an advertising professional, project manager, idea generator, crisis handler and amateur coffee drinker.

The rest of the time I’m an avid intramural volleyball, kickball, and flag football player, graphic novel enthusiast, Shark Week devotee, and moderate to heavy cinephile. I am an aspiring author, actor, and artist.

Jon DeGroff

My name is Jon DeGroff, and I am a Financial Consultant, speaker and blogger located in Charleston, WV. I work with professionals throughout West Virginia and across the country to help them build a plan for their financial future.

I’ve found over the past six years of working in personal finance that there are many misconceptions when it comes to retirement/money in general and I enjoy educating my clients to avoid the mistakes that the generation before us has made. I author the blog “Musings of a Financial Professional” where I encourage people to become proactive with their life and money, rather than reactive.

When I’m not working or spending time with my wife and two children, I enjoy spending time working out, rooting for WVU football and basketball and traveling.

I preach being proactive with life, rather than reactive, because that is at the very core of what makes people successful.

Joe DeGroff

Hey, my name is Joe DeGroff, and I work in the field of personal finance and helping my clients to develop financial strategies that allow them the flexibility to live life is what motivates me.  Some might say that I am at war with conventional finance–I find it makes little sense, uses a risk-based planning model, and sets people up for financial failure.  While many of the financial websites simplify financial planning to: 1) Live beneath your means, 2) Get out of debt, and 3) Invest for retirement, few people actually talk about what to do with the money you are saving.  Just how should we save money for the future and why should we make those decisions?

I am fastidious in my pursuit of why and never would offer a recommendation without explaining why.

When I am not wreaking havoc to the world of conventional finance and undermining its very foundations at www.retirementstrategyblog.com, I enjoy working out, spending time with my family, and going to church. Does life get more exciting?  I submit to you that it does not!

Pursue financial responsibility that makes “cents” by checking out Joe’s personal finance column.
